How can you play in German or Spanish worlds
On the registration and login pages, there are three flags.

Clicking the flag of Germany changes the interface to German, and allows you to play in the German worlds. Many of the players there know English, but not all of them--and if you speak English in the SB, you will of course be banned.

Clicking the flag of Spain changes the interface to Spanish, and allows you to play in the Spanish worlds. Some of the players there know English, but they will not admit it. If you speak English in the SB, you will of course be banned. And if you speak Mexican/Chicano Spanish in the SB, you will be ridiculed.

Clicking the thing that's half of the US flag and half of the UK flag changes the interface to English, and allows you to play in an alternate reality where George Washington died of pneumonia in 1775 and a compromise was reached that eventually led to King Edward of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and America (with the Parliament in Georgetown, DC since the mid-19th century, and the Royal Palace in New York since Edward married the American Duchess Mrs. Simpson in the early 20th).

It may be a thread jacking, but I had to give my kudos. That paragraph is great. It makes me want to go read some Harry Turtledove.

I haven't read any Turtledove in a long time. His books usually seem to start off with an interesting concept, then quickly become boring. By contrast, Harry Harrison's alternate history books start off with an interesting concept, then go completely over the top. (That doesn't have to be bad--Gibson and Sterling took The Difference Engine over the top and had a field day with it--but when you meticulously lay a plausible foundation for having the British and the Confederacy accidentally go to war with each other you really shouldn't conclude with the US invading Ireland.)

Maybe the two of them should have worked together.

Any suggestions for other writers in the field?

Getting back on track: You know you're addicted to HW when your choice of reading material is determined by the HW forums. :)

You are addicted when you know exactly

Which parts of which words are censored and you avoid them in Real Life:

reputation, assistance, subject, object etc.

Also you avoid apostrophes in subject lines of real E-mail.

You realize the dichotomy that a text based game forces you to avoid some text.

When you ask Falcotron to create a forum for your real life, so you can compare which one is more important.

When you can kill an SB without trying

When you ask for a HW marriage (Hey if the Jedi and WoW nerds can do it...)

... you're on vacation, and someone is sitting your account, and you still check in to see your mail and read the forums.

And you know you're addicted to Tagoria when you're on vacation, you check in, you see a troll in the shoutbox, and you fire up the mod tool to ban him.

And you know Holy-War is addicted to you (no, this isn't going to be a Yakov Smirnoff "Russian reversal" joke) when they schedule the double-value-tix promotion for exactly the length of your vacation, because that'll teach you to take a vacation.
