Login: Security Code Troubles

The security code is giving a lot of people quite a trouble. Here are some hints to get it right the first time:

  1. The security code is valid once only. If you mistype it and get to the error page and then press go back on your browser, you will get the old code again. If you enter that again, it will bring you on the error page again and this can go on forever. To get a fresh code on the login page hit F5 or reload the page before entering your login data. If security code does not match then click on the 'back to login' text under the error message and try again! Don't use the go back button of your browser! The security code is valid for one try only! If you go back you will have displayed the same security code and login will surely fail! If you are on the login page, hit the F5 key or click the 'reload page' button of your browser and you will get a new security code.
  2. The security code must be typed in like a number from left to right: The scrambled image, e.g. 9476, must be typed in as 9476 and not any another combination!
  3. If you can't see the security code and the image remains white, make sure that Javascript and Cookies are activated. Then try to reload the page (the picture might remain white due to slow network speed). Should this not help, delete the browser cache and try again. Should the problem still persist, please check your firewall and your security settings: The security code (port 80) might be blocked.
